Multistage hydraulic fracturing using BPS (burst port system) technology

The technology was selected by specialists of JSC “NK “Neftisa” and JSC Belkamneft named after A. A. Volkov subject to the conditions of the Ural region with the purpose of further scaling.
High-quality cementing of 400 m horizontal section was carried out at the well, having achieved a 74% performance index that may be deemed successful. High-quality isolation allows hydraulic fracturing without overflows between frac collars, which results in good separation between the ports and hydraulic fractures. This technology will allow increasing hydraulic fracturing and well flow rate, and carrying out further large-volume hydrochloric acid treatments (BSKO) or repeated acid hydraulic fracturing with proppant. It should be noted that its undeniable advantage is that the diameter of the casing string remains full-bore while the inner diameter of the collar equals to the diameter of the casing. There is no need to drill out and extract structural assembly units (seats, balls) since they are not used in this technology.
Moreover, if one of the ports is watered out, it may be closed using a special key at the disposal of the workover crew. Once all the final well operations were completed, the actual inflow rate exceeded the estimated flow rate, which confirms reasonable benefits of using this technology at the fields of JSC Belkamneft named after A. A. Volkov.
