He graduated from Gubkin Russian State University of Oil And Gas in 1979, majoring in Engineering and Operation of Gas and Oil Pipelines, Gas Holders, and Oil Storage Depots.

Professional Experience:

1972–1975, senior technician at the All-Union Oil and Gas Research Institute.

1975–1987, senior engineer of Glavtransneft at the Ministry of Oil Industry.

1987–1990, Head of Mugen line operations dispatcher station of Surgut oil pipeline management office.

1990–1992, Chief Economist of the USSR Oil and Gas Ministry, and later, Head of Glavtransneft Procurement Service at the Ministry of Oil Industry.

1992–2000, he worked at AK Transneft, starting as a section head and later becoming Vice President of the state-run company.

2000–2001, General Director of the State-Run Enterprise Central Dispatcher Board of the Fuel and Energy Complex at the Ministry of Fuel and Energy.

2001–2004, Deputy Minister of Energy of the Russian Federation.

2004–2006, Deputy Director of the Federal Energy Agency.

Since 2006, he has been working at NK RussNeft OAO. In April 2006, he was appointed Vice President of NK RussNeft OAO. He supervised the Company's commercial block and its sales strategy.

2010–2015, Senior Vice President for Commerce of NK RussNeft OAO.
